Benefits of Vivace RF Microneedling
Using its revolutionary technologies, Vivace RF microneedling can help address and improve the appearance of several common complexion problems and signs of aging by providing the following benefits:
- Softening the appearance of lines and wrinkles through collagen stimulation
- Minimizing pore size
- Improving the overall tone and appearance of the complexion, making the skin appear more youthful, radiant, and smooth
- Correcting hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage and medical conditions such as rosacea
- Addressing skin demarcations, including those caused by scars or acne
In addition to treating the face, patients can opt to have Vivace RF therapy to address signs of aging and tighten the skin of the neck, décolleté, shoulders, and body.
Some of Naturallyou’s Vivace patients are combining this therapy with applications of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to maximize their results and further stimulate collagen production.
How is Vivace Different From Standard Microneedling?
Microneedling has been a popular treatment for two decades. It has been an effective way to trigger the body’s healing mechanisms on the surface skin to reduce the signs of acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, areas of loose skin, large pores, stretch marks, and pigmentation problems.
Over the past decade or so, radiofrequency energy has been delivered through various handpieces to also encourage collagen production through a variety of stand-alone treatments. The problem has always been that the RF energy has to first penetrate the epidermis. Because of this, the energy needs to be delivered at a lower level, as it could burn the outer skin. Once the RF energy does penetrate the epidermis, it converts to heat in the dermis, the skin’s second layer. When the body senses heat in the dermis layer, it assumes there has been a wound. It triggers a wound response, where existing collagen near the “wounds” is instantly remodeled and new collagen and elastin production is initiated. This improves the skin immediately and for weeks afterward.
By combining microneedling with the delivery of RF energy directly into the dermis (without having to penetrate the epidermis), the healing response in the body is elevated to an amazing degree. That in a nutshell is how Vivace improves upon standard microneedling at Naturallyou.
Would I be a good candidate for Vivace RF Microneedling?
This combination of radiofrequency energy and microneedling is an excellent treatment for just about anyone, whether you live in Cos Cob or Constantinople. That’s because by delivering radiofrequency energy directly into the dermis, there isn’t any risk of hyperpigmentation, which can be a problem with laser treatments and darker skin tones.
Vivace radiofrequency microneedling treatments are completely safe and well-tolerated. There really isn’t any limitation as to who could improve their skin with this simple procedure. The punctures/channels are only superficial, and they are so small that they begin healing immediately. There isn’t any recovery, and there isn’t any risk for hyperpigmentation. This is a great procedure for all skin tones and skin types — all you have to want is better skin!
Vivace may be the most pleasant cosmetic procedure I’ve ever experienced. I was chatting with Terry throughout my first treatment and barely winced. I left the office at 2 p.m. with red skin, but my complexion was back to normal by dinner! I’ve since had three more treatments and am starting to notice great results. My skin looks buttery smooth and I’ve noticed a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles and a softening of some deeper, problem lines around my mouth. The best part? I’m getting lots of compliments. -Beth F., Fairfield, Ct.
Vivace RF Microneedling Procedure
After cleansing the skin to remove makeup and debris, a numbing cream is offered to prep treatment areas for the Vivace RF therapy. (Note: At Naturallyou, many of our patients have told us the treatment is so painless and tolerable they choose to skip this step and have their treatments without numbing cream.)
After the skin is ready, the patient reclines while we use a small handheld device to gently deliver the potent combination of needle stimulation and radiofrequency energy to the skin. The Vivace device can be adjusted so its tiny needles lightly prick the skin or penetrate deeper, allowing for the procedure to be customized to the needs of the patient as well as their personal tolerance for the minimal discomfort associated with the treatment.
We perform each Vivace procedure in much the same way she would a custom facial treatment, providing the therapy in a gentle, soothing manner for maximum comfort and relaxation. After each treatment, she gently applies a chilled cooling mask to calm the skin, followed by an application of a broad-spectrum moisturizing sunscreen. The entire session takes about an hour.
We give patients a follow-up care kit that includes peptide-boosting serums to use at home to further stimulate the complexion and maximize the benefits of the procedure over time.
Terry’s Tip: While the skin will have a flushed, sunburned appearance immediately after receiving Vivace RF therapy, the intense color subsides within hours.
What to Expect After Vivace RF Microneedling Treatment
While Naturallyou’s patients are reporting great results from their Vivace procedures, this type of collagen-stimulating therapy takes time to work its magic. It can take several weeks or months, and a series of treatments, to yield optimal results.
Naturallyou recommends 3 to 4 Vivace treatments for best outcomes and suggests a follow-up treatment scheduled about 6 months after the last treatment to maintain beautiful and lasting results.

Will I Have Recovery After a Vivace RF Microneedling Session?
There is no downtime after these amazing treatments. You can go right back to work or other normal activities.
When will I See Results From Vivace RF and How Long Will They Last?
You’ll see the instant brightening of the skin after your initial redness resolves. But the real results will show within the first four weeks as your body builds new collagen and elastin and delivers these to the treatment areas. These increases will continue for up to six months. These are permanent results and improvements in your skin. Of course, the march of time will continue, and your body’s collagen production will continue to decline with age. That’s why we recommend regular Vivace RF Microneedling to maintain your collagen boost and to keep your skin looking awesome.
How Many Vivace Treatments Will I Need to Achieve The Results I Want?
At Naturallyyou, we’ve found that 3 to 4 Vivace RF Microneedling treatments achieve the results our patients from Cos Cob and the surrounding areas hope to achieve. These are spread over about 6 months, as this allows the collagen boost to fully ramp up. After that initial series, less frequent maintenance treatments keep your skin looking young and healthy.
Is Vivace Safe?
These treatments are completely non-invasive, do not require any recovery or downtime, and are free from side effects. They are approved for skin tightening by the FDA. In theory, the only possible problem could come from infection from the microneedling portion of the process, but we use a new, sterile, 36-needle gold-plated head for every treatment to ensure everything is completely clean.
Can I Wear Makeup After Having a Vivace Treatment?
Your skin will be highly sensitive immediately after your treatment, so makeup will cause irritation. You should wait for one to two days to give your skin a chance to recover fully from the microneedling before wearing makeup.
