Microneedling is a safe, effective method for skin rejuvenation. This state-of-the-art procedure involves stimulating the skin by using a rolling device outfitted with tiny needles, each as thin a strand of hair, to gently prick the skin. Microneedling treatments are a therapy which may use small amounts of a patient’s own blood supply to heighten the healing power of a microneedling treatment. To yield the blood plasma for treatment, a small amount of patient blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to extract the growth factors that promote healing and rejuvenation. During a treatment that combines microneedling or Vivace™ RF microneedling with blood plasma therapy, the plasma is gently applied to the skin. Because the needles gently penetrate the skin, the blood plasma is able to more deeply penetrate the layers. The rejuvenating results of this treatment appear over a period of several weeks.

Most patients experience some slight redness immediately after the procedure that may last a day or two, but should be able to resume regular activities immediately. To maintain results, repeating the treatment process at least once a year is recommended.
